March 2003 Sunilandings Sewer System State Inspection
We do not have any "before" pictures but if you can imagine the plant was full of "solids" that had to be pumped out and shipped to a certified receiver at a cost of over $4000. The guy in the white hat is the State inspector. The fellow in the dark hat is Brad Ryan. Brad is employed by the city of Edna and for us part time and is doing a great job of getting the plant back in shape. The fellow in the orange hat is yours truly. The cage you see was built by me to be able to enter the unit for inspection and repairs. At the time of the inspection we were trying to find and repair leaks in the concrete walls that was allowing liquids to escape. A commercial contractor of these systems told us that it would cost around $15,000 to have them do the job. No thanks, we'll do it ourselves! Anyway, great improvement over last year!

Sunilandings Water System
Notice hole in water tank. Replacement cost for this tank is in $10,000 range due to the fact it needs to meet drinking water specifications. As many of you know or will soon find out we will soon need a ground storage tank along with all the associated pumps, controls, foundations, etc. We spent around $30,000 to bring at Enchanted Harbor Utility up to state specs. Not sure of the final cost to bring this one up to date at this point.

  Pressure tank problems.
